Plant Music
I recently came across a very weird and bizarre set of products on the Interweb that combined my love of science, electricity, plants and most of all Music!
Using a few prongs to generate a circuit, you can tap into the waves and pulses being sent out by a plant. From this we are able to create MIDI Waves and even apply these waves to a sound board to produce music! Beautiful Music!
Plants can Talk!
We know that plants are alive, they exhibit the same symptoms that we as humans use to classify life. It is even becoming a macabre joke that the amazing smell of freshly cut grass is actually communication from the plant to alert that it has suffered trauma. Can we as humans even apprecitate the potential for communications on another level. It seems the stuff out of sci-fi fantasy and meeting alien races, possibly already on earth.
But Can plants sing?

Using the devices I brought myself as a Christmas present I have noted some obscure patterns, despite the plants happily singing away to themselves as I left them with some MIDI instruments to play with (think the sounds that might come out of your Nintendo Game Boy) they would change or even stop and start new line of conversation to outside stimulus including:
- Watering and Feeding
- Approaching - coming in to the room abruptly.
- Talking to your Plant
- Talking to a friend near by
- Touch
I didn't want to go as far as to break a bit off but with the above I image there would be a new electric pattern generated.
I was able to use the device as well to diagnose life in an uncared for plant that I found and nursed it back to health, I hope to one day record it's music for you all to listen to so stay tuned!
All Done!
Hopefully an eye opening account for some of you who are interested in plants and music!
Keep an eye open for a YouTube account opening when I have the time to properly record them. I can't wait to show off their orchestral skills!
